These rods use tried and true taper designs as a starting point. I have modified these tapers to adjust them for what I think is a more modern feel.
They tend to be slightly faster action than the classic designs on which they were based. These rods are finished in a style that reflects my taste as a rodmaker.

Construction
All my fly rods are hand made from the best quality Arundinaria Amabilis bamboo
imported from China, high quality nickel silver ferrules, figured wood reel seats, and hard
chrome line guides. The components used on these rods are the very finest available. The line guides, stripping guides, reel seats, and ferrules are all from Pacific Northwest companies and craftsmen. My rods are tested and perfected on Oregon waters, some of the best fly fishing water in the world.
After splitting the bamboo culm, I flame bamboo strips to temper them. I space the nodes in the traditional 3/3 pattern. The strips are split apart and hand planed to the
correct taper on steel planing forms using high-quality hand planes. The rod splines are glued with a modern adhesive, bound in a Garrison-style binding machine, and hung to dry.
I pin all ferrules the old-fashioned way, with nickel silver wire. This method allows unequaled strength and the option to remove the ferrule if a repair is needed. I use only the finest silk to wrap the line guides, and selected wood reel seats which are accented with nickel silver or black hardware. With the exception of a rod I made for Allen Thramer, I do not "blue" the finish of the nickel silver ferrules.
I use a small metal lathe for mounting ferrules, installing reel seats, and turning cork grips. I take time to ensure that every rod that leaves my shop has tight, properly fitted ferrules. I glue the cork grip onto the rod one ring at a time to ensure good adhesion and a tight feel. I do not scrimp on the materials that go into my bamboo fly rods.
For the record, there are over 50 steps necessary to build one of my fly rods. It takes me about 40 hours to make one. I put my name on every one, and want each rod to be the best I can possibly make. I am confident that you will find owning and fishing one of these limited production rods a most
enjoyable experience.
